About Me

Welcome, my name is Nyssa. I have been married to a wonderful man, Jon, for 4 years and we enjoy living in Eastern Ohio.

I recently graduated from The Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine and am excited about my journey into residency!

For the past 4 years Jon and I have been working together to remodel our home. It is a huge project but we enjoy the satisfaction of a job well done. I also enjoy decorating our home, photography, and creating things of fabric, paper, or wood! :)

One lofty goal that Jon and I are working at is: becoming debt free!!! Since January 2010 Jon and I decided that we no longer want to be slaves (borrower is servant to the lender Prov 22:7)! After Jon and I read Dave Ramsey’s Total Money Makeover book the decision was obvious . . . we want to change our family tree! As a result being tight on money has taught me to enjoy being frugal (even more frugal than I was before)!

Considered an atypical woman many are surprised to hear that I use power tools,  sew, and can shoot clay pigeons just as good as anybody.  Ever since I was 5 years old I knew I wanted to become a doctor.  I am left handed but only when I write. Family is very important to me and I enjoy the company of “real” people!

The most important thing I could share with you about myself is my personal testimony! I grew up with parents that believed that acceptance of Christ as your personal Lord and Savior was the only way to get to heaven.  When I was about 5 years old I realized that I was a sinful person and that every sin of mine placed Christ on the cross. I quickly learned that Christ was the perfect sacrifice because only a sinless person could redeem the sins of the entire world; after Christ defeated death and sin he rose from the grave and now offers the gift of salvation to those who would accept it. When I was 5 I prayed alongside my parents as I confessed I was a sinner, stated that I believed Christ died for my sins and rose again on the third day and finally asked Christ to come into my heart and be Lord and Savior of the rest of my life!

NOW. . . I strive to be more like Christ! I am not perfect, in fact far from it, but I honestly believe Christ changes you! My daily personal life choices are guided by the Bible and although I fail daily I am always growing more like him by His grace!

And those he predestined, he also called; those he called, he also justified; those he justified, he also glorified. Rom 8:30
